8 Points to follow…..for how to lose weight without strict diet

  • Include healthy fats in your diet…. people think to lose weight they need to eat fat free! There are different types of fats. We need good fats. They digest slower than protein and carbs so leave you feeling fuller for longer. Keep things like avocado, walnuts, olives, salmon, almonds, peanut butter in so your food intake is balanced.

  • Look for low G I Indexed foods. These are usually labelled clearly. They will help keep your appetite controlled as there is less rise in blood sugars after consuming.

  • Dairy is needed also, do not cut it out! We need the calcium from these foods. Your metabolism will be increased more….things like cottage cheese, eggs, greek yoghurt.

  • Dark chocolate. If you are reducing your carb intake, adding a small amount of dark chocolate is good for you. Look for quality with a high cocoa content. It is much lower in sugar than normal chocolate. Many health benefits such as improving brain function, reducing heart disease risk, could lower blood pressure. It will feel like you are having a treat too.

  • Regular resistance training. As well as helping to tone and shape you… This will speed up your metabolism. As opposed to cardio training, you get a fat burn for hours after. The more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism, the more calories you burn off and therefore lose weight.
  • Consume protein after your workout. This will keep your metabolism going at a good speed therefore burning off more calories. Within 30minutes to an hour after.

  • Eat something different once a week. So have a treat meal. This way you don’t feel as though you are depriving yourself. You don’t need to be 100% perfect constantly. It will do you good mentally to break off from usual eating just once a week. Find a new recipe to try.

  • Sleep has a big part to play. If you are not getting a minimum of 7 hours per night it will affect you emotionally, physically, mentally and slows your metabolism. This alone can be the cause of you going off track as you will feel weaker and unfocused.

There are many options out there and different diets to follow. I would advise always to eat healthy and balanced. I know some people need more structure and guidance so if you are shopping online and buying from someone you don’t know, I would advise looking at a plan with a money back guarantee if you don’t get results…this shows how confident they are with their product.
