The start of my new journey….

For the last 8 months I have been heavily focused on my training and eating cleaner more than ever for 2 reasons… 1 – I needed to stay focused on something that gave me a release as I have experienced a few personal issues during the first 6 months of 2019….. 2 – I have always had in my mind that one day I would get on stage and compete. So although I have trained for over 20 years, I feel that this now is the start of my new journey.

I am not putting this out there as a “look at me” thing. I feel I need to document it for myself and also hope to inspire people who may want to do the same. Or others may have a different dream / goal but can relate to my personal life story or situation.

So far….

10th November I returned from a lovely holiday with my 3 daughters. I had overate and drank almost everything there was to try! (I had gained 6lbs but was not worried at all, I needed a blowout!)

12th November I was back in the gym training and immediately cleaned up my diet that week! Start pictures taken that same week and new lean bulk diet in place to start 25th November.

Mind was made up, it was either now or never. So I need to be ultra focused, eat cleaner than ever and train as heavy and hard as possible.

25th November I properly started! Now because my work days are rarely the same because I have PT clients in at various times and teach some early AM classes and some evening classes, every night I have to plan for the following day in terms of my food intake. At first I thought this was going to be a nightmare, but I soon got into the swing of it.

So initially it was 6 meals a day. Within the first week this was increased to 7 as I was hungry! Nearly 2 weeks now into it, I am feeling satisfied with the food and every day has been done properly. Also 4.5 litres water per day too.

I know in my training I need to step this up and train as hard and heavy as possible to build more muscle. So I am jumping in with a training partner when possible to get that extra push.

Do I make it sound easy?

It may sound easy reading what I have wrote so far. I suppose it is if you are disciplined and focused. Organisation is essential. I live with my 3 children and always ensure they have everything they need including my time and attention.

So that is the start of my new journey so far. My blog will update every week or so about my journey and I hope to inspire others along the way.
